Anxiety
Anxiety can take many forms from excessive worry, overwhelming fears, panic, and phobias. It is worrying yourself sick with always expecting the worst. It can also look like irritability, concentration difficulties, and feeling restless and on edge. Being in a constant anxious state makes everyday tasks like working and interpersonal relationships incredibly difficult and taxing.
For people with severe anxiety, their body’s nervous systems are persistently stuck in “fight-flee-freeze” mode. This has severe emotional and physical consequences. Treatment involves assisting clients to calm their “fight-flee-freeze” reactions and soothing their nervous systems. Highly effective behavioral interventions I draw from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness therapies. Reach out now to learn more about what treatment could look like for you.
